Advising Imperial College London on a significant overseas venture.

We advised Imperial College London on its collaboration with Nanyang Technological University (NTU) to establish a new medical school in Singapore, which will offer a joint undergraduate medical degree programme when doors open to students in 2013. 

This is an important overseas venture for Imperial and will see the university developing and delivering a course abroad for the first time.

A team drawn from our Higher Education Group, and our Intellectual Property & Commercial team advised Imperial throughout the negotiations. Key stakeholder interests introduced a degree of complexity that was only resolved by patient negotiation. Our previous experience of overseas collaborative ventures in higher education was invaluable, as was our ability to call on our network of overseas lawyers in Singapore. The result being that Imperial has strengthened its key strategic presence in the Far East.
