Farrers has been advising one of our entrepreneurial clients, Red Tree LLP, on a major property development partnership, creating an urban extension – the town of Sherford near Plymouth.

Red Tree’s unique town-wide planning process will create a new town that has a careful balance between housing, amenities, work space and green space. It is planned to be energy-efficient, socially inclusive, economically sustainable and sensitive to the environment.

We were well placed to provide the complete range of advice that a development of this kind requires and have worked closely with Red Tree on the financial elements of the partnership, including loan arrangements, funding and the members’ agreement, as well as advising on a range of property matters.

“We chose the team at Farrer for their existing experience of property developments of this type and the fact that they could provide the full range of advice we needed to guide us through the process,” explains James Koe Partner of Red Tree LLP. “Their combination of technical expertise and practical experience have ensured we could progress the project as quickly as possible, while avoiding any potential pitfalls as we go.”
