Employment issues

With 'an abundance of quality across the board,' the team at Farrer is praised for its tactical approach and range of legal knowledge.

Chambers UK

We offer pragmatic and tailored solutions to our clients, adding value beyond pure employment law expertise.

In terms of our approach, we are committed to providing advice that is to the point, comes off the fence and is sensitive to our clients' specific and wider needs.  We continue to act for both employers and individuals, which allows us to advise clients falling in either of these categories with a wider perspective.  We also pride ourselves on the strength of the relationships we build with our clients; in the case of our employer clients we see ourselves, in terms of our availability and our understanding of their businesses, culture, people and needs, as extensions of their own HR and senior management teams.

Our advice

For our employer clients, we provide day-to-day advice on ad hoc employment queries, draft contracts and policies and advise on recruitment, disciplinary and grievances matters, small, medium and large scale redundancies, TUPE transfers and restructures, Employment Tribunal claims and restrictive covenant/team move related claims.  For our employee clients, we advise on contractual negotiations, on disputes and exits, on Tribunal and other contractual claims and again on restrictive covenant and team move related matters.

In addition to providing a quality, practical legal service, we also add value to clients through the offer of regular bulletins, training updates and fully interactive seminars.

We work with a wide range of clients which include, on the employer side, media and publishing companies, manufacturers, commercial companies, investment banks and other financial services organisations, sports governing bodies, national museums and other similar institutional bodies, charities, higher education institutions and independent schools, so we have the experience and knowledge across a broad range of sectors to offer you a tailored and cost-effective service to address all of your employment law needs.
