Career

Alan trained at Farrer & Co and qualified as a solicitor in the IP & Commercial Team in September 2012. Alan was seconded to the LTA during his training contract and has since been seconded to the V&A.

Education

Trinity Hall, Cambridge (BA Law); College of Law, York (LPC)

Alan assists with a wide range of IP, commercial and data related matters, primarily for clients in the banking and financial services sectors, in knowledge and technology-based economies, and for many other businesses.  Alan advises on all aspects of data protection law, electronic commerce and the use of data and IP rights as business assets.  He also advises on copyright, trade marks and general commercial contracts, with a particular interest in technology law, software agreements and IP rights in an IT context.

Alan advises clients including technology vendors (from established providers to fast-growing start-ups), the buyers of IT products and services, investors and intermediaries, and independent software developers.
