Helen Bryant

Helen has extensive experience in private client, probate and trust matters, including pre-death estate planning, creating and advising on trusts (both contentious and non-contentious), drafting Wills and handling complex probate and estate cases, mostly featuring foreign assets or beneficiaries.

Helen specialises in advising on trust issues, and on the tax advantages and potential snags of trust structures.  Helen's trustee clients often hold important family assets (company shares, land, chattels) in settlements requiring regular review and amendment as families and tax rules change over time.

Her clients include entrepreneurs, the owners of landed estates, and law firms outside the UK who represent beneficiaries of English estates or trusts. She chairs the committee of the London Central Branch of the Society of Trusts & Estates Practitioners and contributes a quarterly Wills & Probate Update to the Solicitors Journal.

Who we help

Helen frequently advises executors, trustees and beneficiaries who are involved in disputes over trusts or estates, many involving cross-border issues.  A pragmatic approach, based on core legal principles, often produces agreement without a court battle. Her clients include overseas clients seeking probate to cover English assets, and UK executors of estates including foreign assets.
