James is Head of Property. He acts for a broad range of clients dealing with all types of property including commercial, rural, agricultural and residential.
James advises large institutional land owners and those investing in property with many of which James has a trusted advisor status.
As part of his property practice James has advised private banks on secured lending and other property matters for many years.

Joined Farrer & Co as an articled clerk in 1976; qualified as a solicitor in 1979; and made partner in 1985. James was senior partner from 2008 - 2011. James became Solicitor to the Duchy of Cornwall in 1994 and President of Holborn Law Society in 1996/7.
