Owen joined Farrer & Co in 2014 from a boutique West End media firm, where he specialised in privacy, TMT and intellectual property advisory work across the arts, technology and sports sectors. He was also involved in a broad range of contentious matters including High Court and IPEC litigation, trade mark procedure, and regulatory.
In addition to his commercial practice Owen works regularly with clients in the not-for-profit, arts and cultural sectors including schools, charities, and sports governing bodies. A significant part of his practice at Farrer & Co is data protection law, whether strategic, contentious or compliance matters – including subject access rights, data security and breaches, and direct marketing. He also advises around information sharing, notably in a child protection context. Since joining he has been seconded to both the Lawn Tennis Association and the Natural History Museum.
