Rebecca Fry


Rebecca advises a broad range of charities and not for profit organisations on governance and other operational and regulatory issues. Her work includes advising on charity formation and registration, incorporations, the establishment and use of trading subsidiaries, fundraising, and managing charitable assets (including permanent endowment).

In spring 2013, Rebecca was seconded to the Law Commission to assist with its ongoing charity law reform project, during the course of which she researched and prepared a detailed paper on charities incorporated by Royal Charter.

In May 2015 Rebecca was named as one of Charity Finance's Top 25 Rising Stars in the charity sector.

Who we help

Rebecca advises sponsors of new charities on charity formation and registration, and trustees and officers of existing charities on a variety of constitutional and operational issues.

Rebecca is a member of the firm's Higher Education Group. She has advised both Universities and Oxbridge colleges on charity and trust law matters and the implications of the Equality Act 2010.

Rebecca joined Farrer & Co as a trainee solicitor in 2009 and qualified into the Charity & Community team in 2011. In 2012, Rebecca was seconded to the Science Museum where she acted as the Museum's sole in-house legal advisor.
