Sarah-Jane completed her training contract at Lewis Silkin, during which she spent 6 months on secondment to Shell International Ltd's in-house employment legal team. On qualification, Sarah-Jane moved to Morgan Russell and joined Farrer & Co in July 2010.

Client

Sarah-Jane specialises in employment law. She advises employers and employees on a wide range of contentious and non-contentious employment matters. Sarah-Jane is experienced in conducting Employment Tribunal litigation, from initial proceedings up to either a hearing or settlement. She has dealt with claims for unfair dismissal, sex, race and disability discrimination, whistleblowing, and equal pay claims.

Sarah-Jane advises a broad range of clients from the education, commercial, sports and charity sectors on all manner of employment issues, including employment contracts, policies and procedures, settlement agreements, disciplinary and grievance issues, performance management, redundancies and other terminations, TUPE transfers, and Tribunal litigation.  She also has experience advising senior executives on their contracts of employment, exit negotiations and settlement agreements.

Sarah-Jane specialises in advising higher education institutions on contentious and non-contentious employment issues from TUPE transfers to changes to terms and conditions of employment, grievance and disciplinary issues, academic misconduct, senior terminations and Tribunal litigation.  She is currently on secondment one day a week to the HR team at Imperial College London.   She has recently advised several higher education institutions on the Prevent Duty and has produced Risk Assessments for them in accordance with the Duty.
