London, 12 May 2016: Farrer & Co has appointed Sharmila Mehta as a Consultant.
Mehta has been practising corporate and private immigration law for 22 years and is a leading expert in the field. From 1999 until 2014, she was a partner at Magrath LLP, and co-led its UK Immigration Group, where she acted for major investment banks and global commodity clients, as well as influential business people, wealthy families and entrepreneurs. She has acted in highly sensitive cases around the world including Russia and the Middle East, where she has become known as a significant authority.
Mehta is currently the Chair of the Law Society’s Immigration Law Committee. She is also a sought-after speaker at events in the UK and internationally.
Rhoddy Voremberg, head of the Farrer & Co Private Client department, says: “Sharmila’s appointment is a real coup for us and her practice complements the work that we already do in the field of immigration and international private wealth. She is well-known for her unwavering determination and her common sense approach to some of the most complex immigration issues that face our clients.”
