Farrers are the paradigm of a governing body firm: they understand exactly how governing bodies work and are excellent
We have a significant experience of club law gained from advising a wide range of clubs including prestigious cricket and golf members clubs to many community amateur sports clubs.
We understand the issues faced by clubs ranging from compliance with Equality legislation, good governance and constitutional matters, relations with your members as well as commercial matters such as joint ventures, sponsorship and raising finance through debentures and development of your property.
Interesting work we have carried out recently includes:
- advising on issue of debentures for a prestigious cricket club;
- advising a number of rugby football clubs on their incorporation as companies limited by guarantee and on CASC status;
- advising golf clubs on the implications of the Equality Act;
