Ian was a partner in L'Estrange and Brett and then through merger in Pinsent Masons LLP. He has been a partner since 1995. He joined Farrer & Co in 2016.

Ian is a Council Member of STEP Worldwide and sits on the Education and Professional Conduct Committees of the Society. Ian sits as a trustee for a large number of families in relation to both their property, landed and trading assets and is a board member of a number of companies and significant charities.
