James' work involves advising both UK and international clients (including trustees, beneficiaries and family offices) on a wide range of matters such as Wills, mental capacity issues, tax and estate planning and trust law. James advises on the use of offshore trusts and corporate structures.
James is particularly interested in cross-border estates and has acted for a number of executors of estates which comprise complex (and often overseas) assets. To help develop his interest further in this area, James has written and presented on the EU Succession Regulation (Brussels IV) and is a member of STEP's Cross-Border Estates Special Interest Group.
James is an assistant editor of the Journal of International Trusts, Tax and Corporate Planning and is a key member of the firm's International Strategy Group for Ireland. James is currently working towards his STEP diploma and was awarded a Worldwide Excellence Award for achieving the highest score for his STEP Advanced Certificate in Administration of Trusts (England & Wales).
