Jo qualified in 1993 and after teaching and researching education law at City University worked in the charities team before working as a consultant to the Schools Group. She now works on secondment to specific clients.


Cambridge University

Jo’s role is to work specifically on secondment to clients advising on the implications of the law for all aspects of their business and in particular identifying risks in commercial relationships and assisting in strategic decisions regarding how the organisation is constituted.

Who we help

Jo works on secondment to an HE client where she advises on terms and conditions for courses, staff, and the supply and receipt of goods and services including contracts for security, catering, cleaning and data feeds to the library. She assists academics with confidentiality and funding agreements. She advises on sponsorship agreements and documentation of scholarships, endowed chairs and gifts for specific projects. She is involved in constitutional issues relating to the university, trading subsidiaries, collaboration with other bodies and the students union.
