Andrew is an associate in the firm’s disputes team. His practice encompasses complex commercial litigation and international arbitration, covering a variety of high-stakes, contentious matters.

Andrew represents a broad range of clients, including states and state-institutions, companies and HNWIs, in complex disputes before the English courts and arbitral tribunals under the rules of the major arbitral institutions. Recent previous matters have been a mix of advisory work, English-Court proceedings and international arbitration – and typically a mix of the three – from pre-action to post-enforcement. He is particularly interested in the supportive powers of the English courts under the Arbitration Act 1996.

Andrew has experience of acting for clients in insolvency claims, multi-jurisdictional enforcement proceedings and contractual disputes in the construction and mining sectors, as well as corporate and financial disputes. His focus is achieving swift, cost-effective outcomes for clients.

Prior to joining Farrer & Co, Andrew worked in the London office of an international US firm where he worked as part of the firm’s Litigation and International Arbitration groups on matters in Africa, Europe, China and the UK. Before that he trained and worked at a Magic Circle firm in London.

Andrew entered the law after a PhD in history at Corpus Christi College, Cambridge. He has been published widely and, with Hendrik Puschmann, is currently preparing Butterworths Handbook on the LMAA Terms 2021 (forthcoming: 2023).
