Her work includes providing advice to a broad range of clients such as trustees, individuals and family businesses. In relation to trustees, Caroline advises on their duties and obligations, and assists with planning advice for larger trust structures. She also has experience working with foundations and multi-jurisdictional structures; over the past two years she has worked more closely with clients from the Middle East.
In relation to individuals, Caroline works for both UK-based and international clients providing advice on wills, succession and wealth planning. She works frequently with lawyers in other jurisdictions to find practical estate planning solutions for clients with interests and assets around the world.
Caroline has developed a deep understanding of the issues surrounding mental capacity. As part of this she has presented to investment managers in the field of Lasting Powers of Attorney and assisted clients with dementia to deliver practical solutions on their matters. Caroline also works with other professional advisers and healthcare professionals to ensure there is a support system around vulnerable clients. Recently she has worked with a family business to put in place a suitable succession plan taking into consideration points such as the loss of capacity of the managing director.
