Charlie advises on a range of domestic and international banking and finance transactions, including general bank lending, property finance, development finance and acquisition finance.  Charlie's clients include financial institutions, public and private companies, charities, trustees and private individuals.

Charlie undertook his training contract at Slaughter and May before qualifying into Slaughter and May's financing team in September 2011.  Charlie gained experience in a broad variety of debt finance work during his time at the firm including general banking, debt capital markets, derivatives and project financing.  Charlie moved to Farrer & Co's banking team in July 2016.

Charlie draws on his broad experience in debt finance transactions when advising a diverse array of lender and borrower clients.  Charlie takes a practical and pragmatic approach to banking transactions, advising his clients right from inception and structuring through to signing, completion and funds flow.  

Charlie is known to be highly responsive and sees the role of today's banking specialist as an extensive one in which providing technically astute legal advice sits alongside managing and co-ordinating multiple different parties in complex transactions.  Charlie is known for his focus on getting the deal done.

Charlie recently advised an international bank on a £30m development finance facility, negotiating the facility agreement and comprehensive security package as well as watertight subordination arrangements.  Charlie also recently advised a large trust fund on borrowing £135m via an unsecured revolving credit facility and negotiation of related interest swap documentation.
