Emily specialises in IP and commercial contracts. She advises clients operating in IP rich sectors - including media and technology businesses and luxury brands - on a range of IP and commercial law issues.

Emily is an associate in the Farrer & Co IP and Commercial team.

She advises clients on issues relating to the management, protection, transfer and commercialisation of IP rights, including trade marks, copyright and other registered and unregistered rights. She also drafts and advises on a range of commercial contracts, including media, technology and IT contracts.

Emily has undertaken client secondments at Imperial College, London, Climate-KIC and The National Gallery.

Emily qualified as a solicitor in 2014.


  • Recent experience has included

    • Negotiating and drafting contracts relating to the acquisition of an AI powered software tool, including detailed consideration of IP ownership provisions
    • Advising a media publishing client on its procurement of broadcast, publication and digital rights in relation to a major international media franchise, and
    • Advising a global luxury brand on copyright, trade mark passing off and domain name issues, and related commercial contracts.
  • Emily is a member of the Society for Computers & Law, and IPSoc (the society for junior IP practitioners).

    Emily completed the IP Summer School, IBC Legal, at Downing College, Cambridge in August 2015.
