Practice areas

  • Family and Divorce

Mark is a technically excellent and tenacious family lawyer, with a background as a general civil litigator. He is known particularly for his financial remedy work and specialises in resolving the most difficult cases; those where there are allegations of non-disclosure, those involving complex financial structures both on and offshore, those where there is a particularly high level of acrimony between the parties and those which involve difficult areas of law.

Mark specialises in family law. His clients appreciate his talent for being able to see the "wood for the trees" -  his ability to reach the heart of their problem quickly and resolve matters swiftly and creatively. His background as a general civil litigator gives him excellent knowledge and experience of property, bankruptcy and commercial law.

Mark acts for individuals and families, typically those of high net worth, often with an international aspect to their affairs.   His expertise spans pre and post nuptial agreements, divorce, and property and financial disputes between divorcing couples. He also advises on property disputes between unmarried couples and financial provision for the children of unmarried couples. He advises on international jurisdiction disputes, including the relocation of children, international enforcement of financial orders, and financial provision in England following an overseas divorce.

Clients choose Mark to represent them because of his no nonsense and down to earth style, and his determination to fight for the best result achievable, whether by litigation or negotiation. He is determined, proactive and results-focused. He enjoys drawing together teams of experts from across the firm to be sure of the best outcome for clients, often achieving results against the odds.

Alongside his extensive experience as a partner within the firm, for the last 14 years, Mark has been a Deputy District Judge of the Principal Registry of the Family Division, and subsequently the Central Family Court.  He is a qualified arbitrator.

Mark qualified as a solicitor in 1990.
