William has a range of experience in domestic and international financial transactions, acting for banks, charities, trustees and private individuals with a particular expertise in real estate finance transactions.
William joined Farrer & Co as an Associate in 2017, having completed his training contract at Addleshaw Goddard in London where he worked in the Financial Disputes, Banking (real estate finance), BSR (business support and restructuring) and Competition teams.
William balances a common-sense approach with a strong grasp of the technicalities involved in banking and finance transactions. He works with lenders and borrowers to reach practical solutions to any issues that arise and ensure that funding is deployed on time.
William has a particular expertise in property finance transactions and has experience in acting on both investment and development transactions for borrowers and lenders. He recently advised a lender on the provision of a development facility to fund the construction of a block of flats in central London.
William also has expertise in advising borrowers and lenders in unsecured and secured general lending work, including asset based lending. William recently provided advice to a company on the finance and security documentation involved in an invoice-discounting facility intended to provide operating cash flow to the borrower's business.
William previously spent a number of years studying and working in Sweden and Finland, having completed a Master's degree at the University of Stockholm and having worked at both law firms and at an international company in Helsinki.
