The week was a runaway success, with the students commenting that their time at Farrer & Co had inspired them, encouraged them to be 'more focused at school,' made them realise that they 'definitely want to be a solicitor,' and had 'been the best week of their life.'
In February 2012, Farrer & Co played host to five A level students from IntoUniversity by providing them with a week's work experience across five of our different practice areas.
IntoUniversity provides local learning centres where young people are inspired to achieve. They offer support to young people from disadvantaged backgrounds to attain either a university place or another chosen aspiration. Young people from the UK’s poorest backgrounds face a considerable educational disadvantage: They tend to do less well at school than their middle-class peers, they are far less likely to go to university, and they have little chance of ever entering the professions.
Farrer & Co partnered with IntoUniversity to select students from different centres with an interest in entering the legal profession. Following a rigorous application process the successful five were rewarded with an insight into what it's like to work in one of London's most prestigious law firms.
The week was a runaway success, with the students commenting that their time at Farrer & Co had "inspired" them, encouraged them to be "more focused at school" made them realise that they "definitely want to be a solicitor" and "been the best week of their life"
We very much hope to continue to build and strengthen our relationship with IntoUniversity and be able to offer the same opportunity to more of their students in the future.
