Tribunal fees to be considered by Court of Appeal

Unison has been given permission to appeal against the Administrative Court’s ruling that there is insufficient evidence to suggest that Tribunal fees are unfair.

In February, the Administrative Court dismissed Unison’s judicial review of the fees regime.  In the judgment (which can be found at the following link), much was made of the lack of evidence at the time of the hearing of the impact of fees.

However, in March the Ministry of Justice’s Tribunal Statistics Quarterly found that Employment Tribunal claims had dropped 79% compared with the previous year.
