An introduction to our Private Funds practice
Insight

We are delighted to publish a new guide showcasing Farrer & Co’s expertise in the private funds space. This is a growing area for the firm, with an increasing number of new fund managers coming to market. We are also seeing a market trend among family offices and intermediaries in sectors such as private equity and venture capital, real estate and credit, who are looking to set up permanent capital structures to enable more timely and tax-efficient investment by their respective clients.
The guide, which has been prepared with input from teams across the firm, including Financial Services, Corporate, Banking, Commercial Property and Tax, sets out our capabilities in three key areas for prospective clients and intermediaries:
- Fund establishment: acting for fund managers and promoters in establishing new fund structures both onshore in the UK and offshore in fund jurisdictions such as the Channel Islands, the Cayman Islands and Luxembourg.
- Downstream: undertaking own-account transactional Corporate, Property and Banking work for fund clients.
- Investors: assisting clients who wish to invest into funds in carrying out due diligence and in negotiating the terms on which they invest.
