Beth Balkham lawyer

Beth is a corporate lawyer and acts for private businesses, family businesses, established entrepreneurs and both high net worth and institutional investors.

She advises on transactions, often with cross-border elements, which span a variety of sectors including tech, retail, education, property and financial services. These include mergers, acquisitions, fundraising and group reorganisations. Beth also advises businesses on corporate structure and governance matters, including succession, shareholder arrangements, directors’ duties, employee share schemes and board procedures. She is particularly interested in her clients' commitments to responsible and sustainable business, in relation to both good corporate governance practices and sustainability-focused transactions.

Beth also has a particular passion for supporting women-led businesses, and leads Farrer & Co’s network of female founders as a core member of its Entrepreneurs Team. As part of this, she regularly hosts and also speaks at female founder focused events on key legal issues when running a business, seeking investment, or successfully exiting.

Beth trained at Farrer & Co and therefore has experience working across the firm’s different practice areas. She qualified as a solicitor in September 2021. Prior to joining the firm, Beth studied English Literature at Durham University and a Masters in Gender, Society and Representation at UCL. She then completed the GDL and LPC at BPP Law School.
