Retail parks/shopping centre financing: advised a real estate investment fund on a £40 million financing from a global insurance company, used to acquire a portfolio of retail parks in Scotland, England and Wales.
Bank guarantees for acquisition of African mining services: advised a client engaged in large scale contract mining services in West Africa in connection with two on-demand bank guarantees granted in its favour totalling more than $85.8 million.
Advising an ultra-high-net-worth individual on an investment: advised an ultra-high-net-worth individual client on their investment in a property company, including advice on its existing debt position, intercreditor arrangements, new loan funding and a personal guarantee.
Estates: advised a large private estate on multiple high-value debt facilities with a private bank. We also advised this client in connection with the issue and purchase of £105 million of unsecured, fixed interest private placement notes.

Religious institutions: advised a Catholic archdiocese on its secured £3.5 million loan to a charity and specialist school for children with learning disabilities, epilepsy and other complex medical conditions, established by a historic Catholic order of religious sisters.
Lending to charitable schools: advised a deposit-taking UK bank on its loan of up to £7.5 million across three tranches to a charity which operates specialist schools for children with autism.
Lending to an educational charity: advised a charitable institution, incorporated by an Act of Parliament, on its £30 million private debt placement. Our work involved advising the charity on the appropriate powers and authorisations required for the issuance under its constitution.
Lending to an Honourable Society administering educational activities: advised an unincorporated association in connection with the issue and purchase of £20 million of unsecured, fixed interest rate private placement notes. The funds raised through the private placement issuance were used to develop and refurbish a central London property owned by the issuer.
Lending to a trading subsidiary: specialist advice was provided from our charities and banking teams to a charitable parent company on making a secured £1.6 million revolving credit facility available to its trading subsidiary. The loan funds were used to further language education.
