Charlotte advises both borrower and lender clients on a range of domestic and cross-border financings, with a particular focus on media financing and secured lending transactions in the real estate sector.

Charlotte works for a wide range of borrower clients on transactions including general corporate borrowing, acquisition finance and leveraged finance. Her clients include large corporates, landed estates, charities, trusts, entrepreneurs and private individuals.

Charlotte also has particular expertise in media financings, acting for financial institutions lending against media royalites and intellectual property rights for a wide range of high-profile borrowers.

Alongside these focus areas, Charlotte has extensive experience in real estate finance and spent six months on secondment in the legal team of a private bank, focusing on real estate lending and enforcement.

Work highlights

Advised the UK branch of a major Swiss bank on their LIBOR transition project, which included the preparation of new templates using SONIA Term as a reference rate and assistance with the transition of several hundred existing loans from LIBOR to SONIA term, which included regulated mortgage loans, non-regulated residential property loans and commercial property loans, as well as the bank’s entire book of lombard loans.

Advised a private owned clothing retailer with multi-million pound revolving credit facilities available for its international subsidiaries across Europe and the US.

Advised the borrower on its £145 million syndicated revolving credit facility including ensuring alignment with its private placements issued under note purchase agreements.

Advised a lender on a £12.5 million financing secured against royalties generated from a music catalogue, income streams from songwriting contracts and other intellectual property rights for a well-known singer/songwriter.

Advised a lender on a £7 million financing secured against intellectual property rights including music publishing, writer’s share and producer royalties.

Advised a private bank on the refinancing of an uncommitted multi-currency revolving credit facility secured against a series of life insurance portfolios issued in favour of multiple beneficiaries of a family trust.
