Daniel is a litigator who acts on high-profile and complex cases, often with an international element.
He is a member of the firm’s Sovereign Advisory practice and advises states, missions and diplomats on state immunity and consular law. More broadly, he advises private individuals, institutions and companies on dispute resolution and prevention.
Daniel has a breadth of court experience, including offshore work in the Abu Dhabi Global Market, both at first instance and in the Court of Appeal.
Daniel is currently acting on behalf of a foreign state asserting state immunity in a major matter. Other notable recent experience includes representing a private individual accused of a multi-billion-dollar fraud and acting for the defendant in a substantial contractual dispute concerning a rare diamond.
Daniel holds a First Class degree in Law from Downing College, University of Cambridge, where he was the recipient of the Senior Harris Scholarship and the Wilsey & Lerch Prize. Daniel was previously a research assistant at the University of Cambridge and held an editorial position with the Cambridge Journal of Law, Politics and Art.
