David’s practice focuses on the capture, protection and exploitation of IP rights and technology. This includes advising on high profile joint ventures, licensing, and franchising, both domestic and international.
David also acts on large-scale commercial and technology contracts for clients across a range of sectors. His work in this field often includes outsourcing contracts, covering, for example, printing services for media clients, IT for banking or catering for cultural institutions and visitor attractions.
Particularly appreciated for his high standard of service and clear, level-headed advice, David has established a strong reputation with notable players and intermediaries in the education, technology, banking and philanthropy sectors. His client base includes leading UK universities, schools and educational institutions; banks and investment funds; privately-held businesses in growth areas, including tech start-ups; and high-profile donors and philanthropists.
With a strong transactional IP and commercial law skillset, David regularly collaborates with specialist colleagues on corporate, banking, finance, litigation and charity law issues.
