Elizabeth advises on a wide range of family law matters including high net worth divorce, complex and international financial remedy proceedings and private children law.

Elizabeth works closely with her clients to achieve the best possible outcome in a positive and constructive way both in litigation and out-of-court negotiations.

Many of Elizabeth’s divorce and finance matters involve complex asset structures, overseas trusts and international assets. She advises on financial settlements on divorce (including Part III financial relief after an overseas divorce) as well as pre and post-nuptial agreements.

On matters involving children, Elizabeth works on a range of cases including arrangements for children following the breakdown of a relationship. She has particular experience advising clients in cases of international abduction, parental alienation and allegations of domestic abuse.

Reported cases

S v C [2020] EWHC 2127 (Fam) – proceedings following a divorce to determine the division of a clinical negligence award relating to the child’s medical needs between the parents.

WX v YZ [2021] EWHC 3725 – Hague proceedings following the children’s removal from their home abroad to the UK.

Augousti v Matharu [2023] EWHC 1900 (Fam) – successfully defending an appeal against a final financial order which provided the husband with his needs on a Sch 1 (reversionary) basis.

Case highlights

Financial remedy proceedings involving complex internationals trusts in various jurisdictions including Jersey and the BVI.

Part III proceedings to determine the wife’s financial claims on divorce, following a move from the Middle East to London.

Financial remedy proceedings in which the central issue was the valuation of a substantial catalogue of art (£200m+).
