Emmeline advises both employers and senior employees on a range of contentious and non-contentious issues. Her clients include businesses, schools, sports organisations and senior executives.
Emmeline advises clients across a variety of industry sectors on all aspects of employment law. On the contentious side, she has experience in representing clients in the Employment Tribunal on matters such as unfair dismissal, discrimination and whistleblowing detriment. Emmeline has also worked on matters before the High Court, in particular in respect of claims concerning the enforceability of restrictive covenants.
As part of her advisory practice, Emmeline supports clients with day-to-day employment issues such as contract negotiations, policy reviews, grievance and disciplinary procedures and settlement agreements.
Emmeline is also a qualified teacher and, prior to joining Farrer & Co, worked in two top performing multi-academy trusts. When working with schools, Emmeline brings both practical and legal experience to her clients, advising on issues relating to staff, pupils and parents. She also has experience in supporting schools during the inspection process and advising on the outcomes.
Emmeline is a member of the Employment Lawyers Association and regularly writes for the WorkLife blog. She volunteers for the Mary Ward Legal Advice Centre and also works with Aspiring Solicitors as a professional ambassador for the firm.
Emmeline qualified as a solicitor in September 2024 after completing her training contract at Farrer & Co. Outside of work, she is the Chair of Trustees for a community-based music charity.
