Karen is a Knowledge Lawyer in the Family & Divorce team. She supports the team with technical know-how, legal research, training, practice development and legal technology.

Prior to becoming a Knowledge Lawyer, Karen advised clients on a broad range of family law issues, including high value financial claims on divorce, arrangements for children, nuptial agreements and cohabitation disputes. Karen's cases often involved multiple jurisdictions, complex asset structures, offshore trusts and valuable business interests. She has particular experience of international children cases, including applications to relocate children abroad and cases involving the 1980 and 1996 Hague Conventions.

Karen is a member of Resolution and the Family Law Knowledge Network. She has contributed to various legal publications and was recently quoted in Spear’s.

Karen qualified as a solicitor in 2016 and joined Farrer & Co in 2024.

Acted in an international children case which included an application for the children’s summary return to England under the inherent jurisdiction and complex jurisdictional issues.

NT v LT (Return to Russia) [2020] EWHC 1903 (Fam)

Acted in a complex children case which included an application under the 1980 Hague Convention for a child’s return to Russia.

K (A Child) (Stay of Return Order: Asylum Application) (Contact To A Parent In Self-Isolation) [2020] EWHC 2394 (Fam)

Acted in complex children proceedings which considered whether a return order in respect of a child under the 1980 Hague Convention can be implemented while an asylum claim is pending.
