Maree Cassaidy
Associate (New Zealand Qualified)
Maree specialises in employment and partnership law, with a range of experience across contentious and non-contentious matters. She advises on the spectrum of employment law matters, with a particular interest in grievances and investigations, particularly those encompassing sensitive concerns of discrimination or victimisation.
Maree has acted for a range of employer clients in the education, health and government sectors, as well as senior executives, partners and LLP members in a range of industries.
She has a strong background in contentious disputes, having appeared in the New Zealand Tribunals and Courts, and played an integral role in a range of Tribunal, High Court and arbitration matters in the UK. She has a wealth of experience attending mediations and negotiating settlements pre-litigation and works closely with clients to achieve outcomes that best suit their particular needs
Maree's recent experience includes advising on a significant team move, restrictive covenant disputes and negotiating complex settlement agreements with senior executives. She has acted for individuals and businesses in bringing and defending Employment Tribunal claims involving unfair dismissal as well as discrimination and whistleblowing.
Maree qualified in New Zealand in 2018 and spent several years at a top-tier law firm before joining Farrer & Co in 2025, following her time at a City law firm in London. She is a member of the Employment Law Association and the Association of Partnership Practitioners.
