Matthew assists lenders and borrowers on international and domestic banking transactions.
Matthew advises a range of lender private banks on real estate finance transactions often containing both offshore and onshore elements. In addition to property financing, he has experience of advising lenders on asset financing, including transactions involving debt secured against aircraft and artwork. He also assists a broad range of borrowers from individuals to multinational corporates on their borrowing requirements.
He enjoys the team element to finance transactions and helping all parties to meet their mutual goals, in addition to recognising the need to drive transactions forward to help both borrower and lenders achieve their deadlines.
Prior to joining Farrer & Co he led a team working as part of a regulatory investigation at a major international bank, which offered a valuable insight into and helped him appreciate how banks work.
