Alex is a family law specialist who works across the full range of private family law matters with a particular focus on financial remedy cases, both contentious and non-contentious.

He advises on matters across the entire spectrum of private family law including divorce, financial settlements, pre and post-nuptial agreements, and arrangements for children following the breakdown of a relationship.

Many of Alex’s cases involve complex financial arrangements and disputes and he has been involved in some of the highest -profile and highest value cases in the family courts in the past decade. Alex has particular experience advising clients in cases with international assets and complex asset structures, sometimes involving allegations of non-disclosure. He has recent experience of acting for, and against, successful entrepreneurs in the technology sector and is sensitive to the difficulties and complexities that such cases often involve.

Alongside his contentious practice, Alex regularly prepares and negotiates pre and post-nuptial and cohabitation agreements.

Alex also has experience of high-conflict children matters, including allegations of non-accidental injury and alienation, as well as advising clients in cases where one parent wishes to relocate with the children internationally.

Alex has been ranked as a Leading Associate / Rising Star in the Legal 500 since 2020, and a Rising Star in Spear’s Family Law Index since 2023. Alex won the 2019 SRA Legal Access Challenge in recognition of his work in building a law-tech tool.  He received a £50,000 grant to further develop the tool. In recognition of his work, Alex was named one of The Legal Technologist’s Top 10 Most Innovative Junior Lawyers in the UK.

Reported Cases

HAT v LAT [2023] EWFC 162 (29 September 2023)

Successfully acted for the wife in her application for interim maintenance and legal services payments order in financial remedy proceedings taking place over twenty years after the parties separation.

Pierburg v Pierburg [2022] EHWC 2701 (Fam)

Acted for the respondent husband in Part III proceedings brought by his ex-wife following a divorce in Germany. The wife was held to the terms of an agreement reached by the parties shortly before the final hearing.

Grandison & Anor v Joseph [2019] EWHC 977 (Fam) (01 April 2019)

Successfully acted for the wife in an appeal relating to enforcement proceedings against her ex-husband in respect of the sale / transfer of a large (c.50 property) property portfolio.
