Emily specialises in reputation management and dispute resolution across a broad spectrum of privacy, defamation, tech and data protection issues. She provides bespoke legal advice to a wide range of clients, including high-profile individuals, schools, charities, corporations and executives.

She has extensive experience in litigation, advising both claimants and defendants at all stages of the litigation process, and has worked on a variety of complex disputes. She is experienced in acting in very sensitive matters and clients appreciate her calm and reassuring approach in what can be highly stressful situations for the client.

Emily is particularly experienced in advising on defamation, privacy and data protection, including right to be forgotten requests and pre-action and pre-publication issues.

She also advises individuals on reputational and privacy matters such as misuse of private information, data protection rights and right to be forgotten requests. She regularly acts in matters involving national newspapers, internet platforms such as Google and Meta, and due diligence providers, helping clients protect and manage their reputations across digital and print media.

Emily frequently advises educational institutions, charities, and cultural organisations on reputational risk, crisis management, and data protection compliance. She assists with a variety of media-related issues, including press engagement, safeguarding sensitive information, and navigating complex reputational challenges in the public domain.

Emily acts for a range of corporate clients in defamation and right to be forgotten matters, and provides strategic advice on data protection compliance, cyber-attacks and reputational risk. She also works on behalf of a limited number of publishers, reviewing content pre-publication to identify and mitigate defamation risks.

Emily undertook her training contract at a Magic Circle firm, and was admitted as a Solicitor of the Senior Courts of England and Wales in 2021.
