Associate
Iain is an Associate in the Disputes team. He advises a broad range of clients including private individuals, businesses and not-for-profit organisations on the full spectrum of their contentious matters.
Iain works closely with clients to understand their objectives and is valued for the clarity of his advice in dealing with complex disputes. He is able to navigate technical legal points while remaining focused on how to achieve the best possible result for his clients.
Iain deals with a variety of contentious matters and recent work has included art related disputes, commercial contract disputes and advice on debt recovery. He has advised a number of clients on issues arising out of the coronavirus pandemic, in particular relating to frustration. He has also advised on the viability of claims under business interruption insurance policies.
Alongside work in the County Court and High Court, Iain has wide ranging arbitration experience. He is comfortable working on cases with a significant international element, or which deal with novel points of law. Clients trust him to manage cases in a robust and supportive way, offering strategic guidance based on clear legal analysis.
