Marc advises both lenders and borrowers on a wide range of finance transactions. He has particular expertise in high-value, structurally complex secured and unsecured financings. Marc also leads the firm’s Private Banks and Wealth Managers client sector.

Marc has considerable expertise in advising clients on a variety of financing matters. His core practice focuses on real estate finance, where he advises lenders and borrowers on the full spectrum of investment and development transactions across both commercial and residential real estate. He also works closely with corporate clients on their acquisition financing and general corporate lending facilities.

Marc also has experience in advising charities and not-for-profit organisations on their financing needs, as well as advising lenders on the provision of debt to charities. Marc also supports clients in structuring and implementing bespoke secured and unsecured financing transactions for trusts, family offices and high-net-worth individuals.

Marc has developed close links with leading international and domestic private banks, regularly advising them on high-profile loan facilities for their key clients, as well as on template lending and security documentation.

Marc also has a broad base of borrower clients, including corporates, landed estates, trusts and offshore investment vehicles, property investors and developers, charities, livery companies and schools, and a number of prestigious ultra-high-net worth individuals. The majority of Marc's work has an international dimension, and he works closely with the major offshore law firms and other international firms.

Prime London office financing: advised a Singaporean private bank on a £42 million loan facility to a family office client to re-finance two multi-tenanted prime office buildings in Mayfair, London.

Residential portfolio financing: advised a property investment group on a £33 million financing secured against a large residential rental property portfolio in London consisting of over two hundred properties.

Super-prime residential development financing: advised a major Swiss bank on a £44 million term loan facility to an individual high-net-worth client to fund the development of a super-prime residential property in a prestigious central London location. 

Infrastructure works financing: advised a private bank on its provision of £20 million of financing to fund the infrastructure works phase of a multi-purpose development, including residential units, student accommodation and retail units, in a major University town in South East England. 

Revolving credit facility: advised a prominent common investment fund on a £20 million revolving credit facility for the purpose of funding acquisitions and bridge financing payments related to the redemption of units in the fund.

Landed estates: advised a large private estate on multiple high-value debt facilities with a private bank and on the separate issue of £105 million of unsecured, fixed interest private placement notes.

Private Placements to charities: advised a charity on a 30-year note purchase and private shelf agreement for up to £50 million from a multinational insurance investment fund.

LIBOR transition: advised the UK branch of a major Swiss bank on their LIBOR transition project, which included the preparation of new templates using SONIA Term as a reference rate and assistance with the transition of several hundred existing loans from LIBOR to SONIA term, which included regulated mortgage loans, non-regulated residential property loans and commercial property loans, as well as the bank’s entire book of lombard loans.
