He is widely recognised for his work in the entertainment and creative industries, helping clients in the public eye safeguard their privacy and reputation.

Oliver leads the firm's Entertainment, Creative & Talent team and is regularly instructed by those in the film, television and theatre industry who are the subject of unwanted attention, whether from the mainstream media, online attacks, paparazzi or obsessed individuals. He frequently advises clients facing harassment, blackmail or threats to publish private or confidential information, including obtaining emergency injunctive relief where necessary.

Oliver has a great deal of experience navigating disputes with the print media, working on both pre- and post-publication matters against a variety of news publishers in a wide range of subject areas. A significant part of his practice focuses on social media and managing online harms, including 'right to be forgotten' cases and injunctions. He regularly acts in fast‑moving digital crises involving anonymous online attacks, misinformation, generative AI, deepfakes and coordinated campaigns across multiple platforms.

He offers wide-ranging, pragmatic and commercial advice on managing reputational risk, both in response to live issues and through preventative strategies. Oliver works closely with colleagues across the firm on related matters, including non-disclosure agreements and advising on governance, disciplinary and integrity issues.

Oliver adopts a holistic approach and, where necessary, draws on his trusted network of external advisors to protect his clients’ long-term interests. He has also carved out a niche advising clients on the topic of deepfakes and generative AI, writing extensively on these issues in the entertainment industry for national publications.

Oliver has been named as a 'Star Associate' in Chambers’ High Net Worth Guide 2025. Clients value his clear and assertive communication style, as well as his reassuring and friendly approach to what is often a sensitive and stressful time for the client. He is described as "calm under pressure.
