Shivani’s practice covers all areas of family law, often with an international dimension. She advises on divorce and separation, financial remedy proceedings, and the arrangements for children following the breakdown of a relationship, as well as non-court dispute resolution.

Shivani acts for high net worth and ultra-high net worth individuals from diverse backgrounds and cultures, including professionals, business owners, homemakers and parents from around the world.

Shivani has extensive experience of complex financial remedy litigation, both on divorce and between unmarried parents, involving issues such as complex beneficial interests (including preliminary issue trials), corporate structures and family intervenors, including at High Court level. Shivani has experience in protecting high value chattels on breakdown of a relationship, and of "Part III" financial claims following an overseas divorce and enforcement proceedings.

Shivani has in-depth experience of complex children matters, in particular involving allegations of parental alienation, substance abuse and domestic abuse, including fact-finding hearings, as well as internal and international relocation.

Shivani also advises on prenuptial agreements and wealth protection, as well as civil partnerships and cohabitation matters, often with cross-border elements.

Shivani speaks conversational Hindi.

Before joining Farrer & Co in 2019, Shivani read History at the University of Cambridge.

Shivani is a member of Resolution, an organisation of family lawyers promoting a constructive approach to family issues that considers the needs of the whole family.

Shivani volunteers at the Mary Ward Legal Advice Centre and coordinates the firm’s Planet Mark environmental initiative, working to reduce the firm’s environmental impact.
