Leading law firm Farrer & Co has today announced that Edward Floyd will be joining its Family team as a partner on 6th December 2021. He joins from Penningtons Manches Cooper, where he was a partner in the London office.

Advising a broad range of clients, including City professionals and entrepreneurs, Edward is a specialist family lawyer. He advises on the full spectrum of family law issues including divorce and financial remedies, pre and post nuptial agreements and arrangements for the care of children. Much of Edward’s practice is international by nature with recent, key cases involving work with Russia, the USA and Switzerland.

Given this extensive expertise, Edward co-edited the England and Wales chapter of Thomson Reuters’ Family Law – A Global Guide, and was noted in the Spear’s 500 guide as “one of the leading young family lawyers of his generation”.

Commenting on the appointment, William Massey, Head of Family and Divorce at Farrer & Co said: “Edward has a great deal of experience in a field of strategic importance to the firm, and his appointment will add further strength and depth to our existing expertise. We look forward to welcoming Edward into the firm and introducing him to our clients.”

Russell Cohen, Partner in Farrer & Co’s Private Client team, said: “Having dealt with complex family matters in key jurisdictions like Russia and Switzerland, Edward brings huge international experience and know-how to an area of practice which is increasingly international by nature.”

Edward Floyd said: “Joining Farrer & Co in December will be a very significant milestone for me. The firm’s reputation for providing market-leading family legal advice in both the domestic and international markets provides a hugely exciting opportunity for me to develop my practice further.”

Edward’s arrival follows Gerard Heyes’ appointment as a lateral partner hire in Farrer & Co’s Disputes team in May this year.
