Legal Services Act

Powerful team offering the full range of partnership advice, with extensive experience in advising on alternative business structures stemming from the Legal Services Act 2007

Chambers UK

Through our Professional Practices group, we provide a full advisory service to managing partners and management teams on the full range of contentious and non-contentious issues affecting professional practices. Part of this service involves advising law firms and other interested parties on the opportunities created by the Legal Services Act 2007 (LSA). This includes opportunities such as taking on external investment, disposals, mergers and even flotation.

Members of the group lecture and publish widely on professional practices issues and are ranked by Chambers and Legal 500 as leading individuals in this sector. Most are also members of the Association of Partnership Practitioners and the group holds regular events and seminars for partnership professionals.

Our recent work includes:

- providing advice to several US law firms on regulatory and structural issues related to the LSA.

- the merger of a significant regional law firm with a private equity-backed competitor.
