Get to know our new trainees and solicitor apprentices

This September, we are pleased to welcome a new cohort of trainees and solicitor apprentices to Farrer & Co. We asked them about their backgrounds, their first impressions of the firm, and what they are most looking forward to as they begin their careers with us.
You will meet trainees: Perihan Tur, George Budd, Jessica Harker, Alan MacInnes, Amy Broadfoot, Lapo Rocco di Torrepadula, Imran Momen, Alexander Moir, Noaman Malik, Kirsten Higgins, Luke Sheridan and Anastasia Embedoklis. You will also meet our two solicitor apprentices, Rhiannon Jaynes and Faye Langdon.

What were you doing before joining Farrer & Co?
Perihan Tur: I was originally an archaeologist before moving into international development. More recently, I worked as a paralegal here at the firm for nine months.
George Budd: I spent 20 years in education, most recently as a boarding school principal, before deciding to make the move into law.
Jessica Harker: I graduated from Durham with a degree in Physical Geography, then converted to law.
Alan MacInnes: I worked as a civil servant before deciding to pursue a legal career.
Faye Langdon: I completed my A-levels in Spanish, Religious Studies and English Literature, followed by a gap year working in a solicitors’ firm in my hometown.
Rhiannon Jaynes: I finished my A-levels in History, Business and Psychology, and worked as a restaurant supervisor.
What were your first impressions of the firm?
Amy Broadfoot: On my vacation scheme, I was struck by how friendly and welcoming everyone was. It was far less intimidating than I had expected.
Lapo Rocco di Torrepadula: A collaborative workplace dealing with a broad range of clients, including international work.
Imran Momen: Very warm, personal and dynamic. And excellent sandwiches at lunch.
Alexander Moir : Farrer & Co blends tradition with a contemporary outlook, which was clear from the outset.
Noaman Malik: The history of the firm really stood out to me. As a history graduate, that connection resonated immediately.
Rhiannon Jaynes: At events, everyone came across as approachable and committed to excellence. Now that I have joined, the friendliness and support have really stood out.
What are you most looking forward to as you begin your journey at Farrer & Co?
George Budd: The opportunity to rotate through different seats and discover the area of law that suits me best.
Jessica Harker: Moving to London from Newcastle, meeting new people and building connections across the firm.
Imran Momen: Meeting colleagues in my first team and getting started with the work.
Alexander Moir: Putting years of study into practice and approaching each seat with an open mind.
Faye Langdon: Rotating through business services and legal teams before beginning a training contract. I am looking forward to that gradual, structured progression.
Luke Sheridan: Focusing on a career in law and developing my expertise.
Anastasia Embedoklis: Learning more about the firm’s practice areas and building relationships with colleagues.
Alan MacInnes: Engaging with the firm’s clients and gaining practical experience of the diverse work that drew me here.
